Noah Centineo, the star of young-adult-novel-turned-film-series To All the Boys, has opened up about his previous drug use.
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the 23-year-old actor revealed that he has been sober since the night before his 21st birthday.
Between the ages of 17 and 20, though, he partied pretty hard. In addition to taking molly, he says he tried "everything."
"There wasn't really much I wouldn't do," Centineo said. "I never, ever injected anything, which is good. I smoked a lot of things. I was really upset, man. It was a really dark time in my life."
That period followed his parents' divorce and moving into a hotel room with his mother.
"As the 15-year-old living in close quarters with my mom, I felt an obligation to step up and fill a role, fill a position that was vacant at that time," he said. "And in doing so, I bristled and I kind of shoved down a lot of emotion."
He also said that he's now found more productive ways of coping with emotions, like talking, taking baths, meditation and journaling.
