The Canadian concert industry has never seen a year like 2020. But even though the cross-country tours and massive festivals we usually enjoy haven't taken place for obvious reasons, live music persevered this summer — albeit in very different forms from what we're used to.From drive-in shows to professionally staged livestreams to socially distanced outdoor shows, the Canadian music industry has proved its resourcefulness throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Below, check out some highlights from this very unique summer, including a host of drive-in theatre performances (from July Talk, Whitehorse, Stars, the Sadies and more), a Peach Pit performance in an empty ballroom, POP Montreal on a rooftop, and more.
