Published Jun 28, 2018The life and work of late chef, writer and television traveller Anthony Bourdain will be explored in an authorized biography set for release next year.
As Eater points out, cookbook author Paula Forbes confirmed in a tweet that Bourdain: The Oral Biography will be published by Ecco Books in the fall of 2019.
Forbes' tweet calls her book "an authorized portrait of the writer, veteran chef and television traveler, built from stories shared by those who knew him best."
It also notes that longtime Bourdain collaborator Laurie Woolever, who co-wrote his last cookbook Appetites, will edit the biography.
In a statement to Eater, Woolever said, "After working with and collaborating with Tony since 2004, I'm honored to now be working with his estate, and talking to the people who knew him best, in order to share the story of a life that influenced so many people, in so many ways, all across the globe."
Bourdain died by suicide at age 61 in Strasbourg, France, earlier this month.
